Buddha’s Brain and private practice
I leave tomorrow for Esalen. I am going to a training with Rick Hanson whose books include Buddha’s Brain and Hardwiring Happiness. I am super-excited to not only dive deep into information that I get to bring back to my private practice clients, but also to learn in such a nurturing environment.
Esalen is one of those places that just recharges my batteries – even if I am in fact “working.”
For me, having a continuing education budget in my private practice that supports me going to trainings that truly engage me on all levels is a key part of what having a successful private practice means to me.
And I want that for all therapists.
I want you to know you can afford to go to great trainings wherever they happen to be.
Every year.
Not just as a special once-in-a-blue-moon sort of thing.
Of course, this is what I work toward with therapists in the Group Intensive, but I’ve also been working with more established therapists for years, through my Solo Intensive Program. I just did a Solo Intensive with an incredible therapist who was referred by my last Solo Intensive client, and it totally rocked.
She has an established practice, but she wanted to increase her income, without working herself toward exhaustion and burn-out. So we rolled up our sleeves and powered through a tremendous amount of information really fast.
In five hours we:
refined her niche and fleshed out her ideal clients
created customized programs for those ideal clients
Lined-out her financial goals and created a real-numbers-based plan to reach them
Outlined a marketing strategy for the next year
Taught her how to sell a program to potential client
AND wrote all of the website copy for her new site
and she has a list of specific tasks to transform her practice over the next 30-days, and then we will talk again
If you’re an established practitioner and you’re ready to up your game, I’d love to talk with you. I customize every solo intensive to focus our time on just the support, strategy, and production you need for your practice. Just reply to this email and let me know you’re interested in talking about a Solo Intensive for you and your practice.
Talk soon,
